Favorites Friday: Light, Lace and Lovely

Welcome to another Favorites Friday (sorry no favs last week- I was on the stage for "The Odd Couple" helping to set records with the Newtown Arts Company. hehe)
Here are my favorites of this week:

1. Sparkling ICE Orange Mango Flavored Sparkling Water: My mom got me to try this, and I must say, I LOVE it. They have a lot of great flavors and it is way better than just boring ol' water.

2. Dannon Light & Fit Key Lime Yogurt: This is my new fav. I usually am an Yoplait girl, but they had this on sale, and for the same Weight Watchers points value, I swear you get slightly more- and just as tasty!

3. Dollar Tree: I love this place. Everything is a $1, and ours actually has a decent selection of organizational items, food and cleaning supplies. I managed to get replacement table cloth for our outdoor patio, only a $1 each!

4. "Arsenic and Old Lace" 1944 movie: My hubs just got cast in the stage production of this, and I had never seen the movie, let alone the play. We watched it and I immediately LOVED it. If you haven't seen it, you HAVE to! So funny, for a dark comedy.

5. Dogfish Head Festina Peche: I tried this beer when out with my mom in Philly. It has a fruity peach flavor added to the beer, so it is so different compared to many beers I've had before! Love it!

Have a great Friday!

June Totally Tuesday Link Party!

It's that time of the month gang, Totally Tuesday Link Party time!

All you have to do is link up ANY project you've done in the past month. That's right, ANY project from June! Add some of your favorite projects, tips, recipes, room reveals, lists, etc.! I know you all have done some awesome projects, and we'd love to check them all out. I encourage you all to check out other links posted too- it is a link party after all! We had some super fabulous projects linked up in the past, so I'm excited to see what you all have to show off! I'll pick some of my favorites next week, once you all have linked up your projects!

All I ask is that you:

  • Please follow the Host- that's me! (see the social media buttons in the right corner of the blog- follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Bloglovin, Instagram- whatever is your favorite means of following).
  • Link up your own projects- no giveaways or advertisements please. (you can link as many projects as you'd like, but it should be from the past month- April).

Other than that, just have fun! If you have a place to post my blog button (which can be found in my sidebar to the right), great! If not, no biggie- but it would make me a super happy blogger if you did. ;)

Have a Totally Awesome Tuesday and link away! Remember, it can be anything from the past MONTH!

DIY framed Cork Tray Update

Hey gang,
A while ago I picked up a tray at a yard sale that had an old glass bottom, overtop of an old cross-stitch. I decided I wanted to turn it into a cork tray!

First I spray painted it silver as I wanted it to semi match my silver and black bar cart (while painting some other things).

I begged friends to save their corks (one friend has a Wine Tasting Party every year, so she was the prime contributor to the tray).
Then I laid out how I wanted the cork to lay in the tray. I then went row by row and hot glued them down.

The newer corks (that aren't actually make of cork, but something else) were the biggest pain, as they didn't really stick well- so if you can stick to the more traditional corks, they work best.

It is all complete and looking fab! (the paint is a little chipped on the one side, but I think that gives it character. haha
Enjoy!

Work it Wednesday: Going Bananas over Yardwork

Welcome to another Work it Wednesday.
We've been busy working on updating our yard. My mom came to visit this week and helped us out in our little updating outside. We still have to finish painting the edging, but the rest looks good I think.

We added a bush to the left of the front door, pruned the rose tree/bush, mulched the front beds. Also added two potted plants to our yellow buckets. Added some cute little 4th of July signage.

This is what the roses looked like when in full bloom, and way before we pruned the bush/tree.

We also finally put out our homemade signage. It was my first attempt at hand painting lettering. It could be better, but for a first try, I think it works. I might later make the purple swirls yellow instead, as you can't really see them well on the green background.

We are in the process of fixing up our little garden, as well as the backyard that is a total mess right now, if you ask me. I also picked up some cute green and white beads to add to our updated chandelier, so eventually I can finish this (with the help of our electrician friends). The hubs made a super fab banana cake for a party last week (I'll share the recipe later).

All in all, we are doing things little by little, since we both are in shows. It is always fun doing things around the house. Next up is working on fixing parts of the fence:

What are you all working on?

Have a great Wednesday!

DIY Giant Dry Erase Command Board

Hey gang. Sorry that this DIY hasn't gone up sooner, I've kind of been sitting on these pictures for a little less than a month. I've been super busy with practice for shows, a visit from my mom, and lots of other stuff that takes over my blogging time.

Anyways, finally here is my DIY Giant Dry Erase Command Board!

Eventually I might make a proper frame for it, but for now, it gets the job done. It covers up our fuse box, so it had to be pretty large. We had rented a friend's house before we purchased our home and he had a giant dry erase bulletin board that covered up his fuse box that was also in the kitchen. So I got the idea to do something similar, but I wanted a command center type board.

First, we purchased a large piece of dry erase board from Home Depot. Then I mapped out roughly how large I wanted things (in dry erase marker).

I cut everything out on my Cricut Expression and adhered it with my Xryon adhesive.

I dressed it up with some paper flowers and jewels.

Lastly, we attached a little dollar store bucket to a picture frame to cover up an old security box that was also on the wall in order to hold the markers.

All in all, it got the job done and has served us well thus far in keeping tabs on our schedule, menu planning, grocery list and notes to each other.

Enjoy!

Favorites Friday: Diners, Cupcakes and Games, oh My!

Welcome to another fabulous Favorites Friday! Here are some of my favorites this week!

1. Denny's $2-$4-$6-$8 Value Menu: This is an awesome idea for a diner to have. The hubs and I were starving after a late night at a friend's house, so we stopped at Denny's for some late-night diner food. Their value menu did just the trick, and didn't break the bank. We're trying to stick to a budget and not go out to eat more than once a week, so this certainly was a pleasant meal and a pleasant surprise when you get the bill.

2. Trident Strawberry Twist Gum: Once in a blue moon I really want gum to help curb my appetite and make my mouth feel less... icky ... and this certainly was great for that. haha

3. Food Network's Cupcake Wars: I came across this show on the Food Network's app for my iPad. It has kind of become my go-to food show right now. It's too cute (yay cupcakes!) and I just love the themes they have them do. For someone who doesn't have cable, it stinks I can't watch more on their app, but I guess that's what they want- for us cable-less people to regret that we don't have cable anymore.

4. Ticket to Ride iPad/iPhone app: Speaking of my iPad, I am happy about this game app. I have it for my iPhone but also play it on the iPad. I found out about the original board game after watching Wil Wheaton's Tabletop show play it. I then found there was an app for it, and have been hooked ever since. So fun!

5. Star Trek Deck Building Card Game: My hubs and I were at a friend's house (the same friends house we headed to Denny's after leaving) and they taught us how to play this fun card game. For those who've played Magic: The Gathering, Warlord (Which I might add my hubs and I played via candlelight during Hurricane Sandy, lol), Pokemon, etc. this game is quite fun. Once you figure out the rules, it is fun to blow up ships, take over crew members and battle fellow players. Here's a mid-game pic from the game we played:

Enjoy the weekend! I'm going to a concert with my Mom tomorrow after rehearsal for "The Odd Couple" and "Grease." (This is why I've never done two shows rehearsing at the same time- so stressful, but luckily it is only a few weeks of overlap).

Anyway peeps, have a great Friday all!
