For my husband's 30th birthday birthday (and my 29th birthday- hence the "below" party of the party) we had a combo birthday gathering in the theme of "30 Below." We got the idea when we went to Vegas in September- we went to an Ice Bar with our friend Mike, and when sitting in the ice bar, we thought- hey, why don't we have a 30 below party- all icy and frozen?! And this party was born.
Now, the decor was a lot more simply than our New Year's party, since we just didn't have the time, but it was a fun time.
We had snowflakes and ice all over the place (both outside and inside)- luckily the weather was warm enough to not be unbearable outside, but cold enough to have snow still on the outside.
We had a hot chocolate bar (where you could spike it if you wanted to).
We had S'mores outside by the firepit, among other food we had inside.
I made blue-velvet cake pops- which were a big hit for the night.
The other big hit of the night was what we now refer to as- "the blue juice," as well as the ice shot glasses we had outside.
And we also had, of course, ice cream birthday cake.
I also put up banners to finish off the party decor.
We asked friends to bring food instead of gifts, so the above food is just a small fraction of the food we ended up having. It was a great night, and I thought a fun way to celebrate the hubs and I's birthdays.
I used Printables from a "Baby It's cold outside" set was designed by Belinda from Giggles & Grace Designs and I made the celebrate banner from a Stampin Up! banner kit.
Party on everyone!
