Digiments Design Team Audition

So a fellow blogger friend of mine is starting her own company, Digiments, which is digital sentiments. So I decided I would audition for her design team. This was so much fun! I love sentiments as my main thing, so using a digital one then printed out makes it so much easier (and less mess too!) So here is my audition card. I used the whole she-bang on this card: buttons, ribbon, rub-ons, chipboard, popups, designer paper and all that fun stuff. Hope she likes it- Cross your fingers everyone!

Also, if you haven't seen some of my previous posts, I did the Mini Virtual Stamp Night at SCS this past weekend, so check out the 4 cards I cranked out here.
I also made some Mother's Day cards for a Co-Worker of mine who saw my Etsy store. Check it out here. I may never sell anything on my store, but at least I tried. :)
Hugs to all my blogger buddies out there!

Virtual Stamp Night in April

Ok, so I am making this a super quick post. I am very tired and tomorrow I have a LOT of things to do- get my oil changed in my car (and have them check out my Air Conditioning, since I think it is low on that special fluid that makes your AC cold), stop by the Post office (I had everything to go on Friday, then I got delayed by a late lunch with the hubby and they closed by the time I got there! argh!), also I really want to just do something I enjoy before I have to go to work. Today official I became "run down" from working night shifts all last week. Ugh.
Anyways, on Saturday I managed to crank out 4 cards before our friends came over for dinner, board games, a movie (DeathNote 2- live action version dubbed with the original animated series' voice actors) and the usual Saturday night fun with the gang. The VSN mini challenge theme is Vegas, so I managed to participate in 4 challenges: Bellie up the Buffet (used at least 3 different embellishments), Gold, Gold and more Gold (use gold in your creation), The Strip (use strips of paper as your background), and Happy Hour (make a card inspired by your favorite drink).

Bellie up the Buffet

Gold, Gold and more Gold

The Strip

Happy Hour: story behind this, my fav. drink is a creation at our local bar called the "Cherry Bomb" however now that the makers of Pucker has stopped making cherry Pucker, it is a very difficult drink to come by. It is a very sweet drink, almost like sweet tart candy. :) - The card had to be inspired by a favorite drink for those of you who missed that before.

I said this would be quick and I'm already getting long winded, so enjoy!

Mother's Day cards for a Friend

So I have been awake all day/night today. It currently is roughly 11am here in PA and I have been up since noon yesterday. (whow!) I made the mistake of having a caffeinated beverage around 8pm last night at dinner, and me being on a healthier kick have basically given up caffeine, so when I do drink it, I get allllllll hyped. Anyways, cranked out 4 Mother's Day cards for a co-worker and one audition card for a design team on a fellow blogger's new digital sentiments company.  But I will just show  you the Mother's Day cards today, since this blog will be way too long anyways and I think I might finally crash after I post. Read the bottom of my post for the story behind why none of these cards have any words on them. *sigh*

Ok, so the story goes: about a day after I made my Etsy site, a co-worker of mine was surfing the net and came across Etsy. I happened to glance over at the right time and quickly mentioned I just opened my own store for my creations. She checked out my store then immediately requests that I make her some Mother's Day cards for her mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. However, since most of them do not speak English, she wanted to know if I could make them with no sayings or if I had to make sayings, she would specify what it was to say. So instead of having her go into the trouble of writing out things that I could say on the card and to avoid the possibility I would spell words wrong, etc. I let her know that I would do my best to create cards with no words on them. Ok, DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THAT IS!!!!??? Me, being the chipboard lover and sentiment-holic I am, was soooo challenged. Since there were to be Mother's Day cards and not like one of your other important holidays, I have very little to work with. Um, flowers, butterflies, stuff like that? Also, I was to not use glitter or markers on them. Another blow to my comfort zone. But I got through them, and half I like, the other half I only sorta like. So above are the fab four! Enjoy!

Giveaway and updates

Ok, so I have been working the night shift this whole week due to one of my co-workers being on vacation and I have to cover for him. So, I have not had a whole lot of energy to either make cards, etc. during the wee-hours of the morning or force myself to get up and work on some before work. (I just can't bring myself to start a project when I don't have a whole lot of time to work on it). So tonight and the weekend I *PROMISE* I will post some newbie ideas. I have a design team audition card to come up with, 4 mother's day cards to make for a friend (who saw my Esty site and now wants me to make cards for her) my Fun-Frilled card and I am determined to make a scrapbook page for once. So, among all the other busy stuff, I am determined to get it all done this weekend. PROMISE.
Besides that little update, check out this great Blog candy here at Creating from the Heart. Check it out!
Ok, off to make some lunch then to get ready for work.

Etsy shop!

So I broke down and made an Etsy shop. I have a big pile of cards that I'm not sure who I would send to, and I always am making more cards, so I decided, "Hey, why not make a little cash for my time and effort?!"
So, check out my etsy shop here. It has a similar look and feel as this here blog, so you should feel right at home!
For right now, I only posted 8 cards, since it takes longer than you think to pop those babies onto online listings. (that and I have to resize all the photos, since my photos for this blog are way bigger than what they allow on Etsy).
Check my shop out and let me know if you see anything needing tweeking. I'm new to the whole Esty thing, so bear with me. Below is what I put in my shop!
Hugs all and check out my shop!

Something old, something new...

So there's a Spring Bridal shower happening over at Fun-Frilled. Make sure you check it out over at Fun-Frilled today! Also, check the post here for information about the awesome contest happening over with the Fun-frilled gang! Here's a sneaky peak at the card.

As far as supplies, everything is reused (and not sure of where from) except the Laundry Line/My Mind's Eye crocheted flower, Handmade Pictures popup bouquet, Best Wishes stamp from Studio G in ColorBox black, and Michael's rhinestone pearls.
(I'm too lazy to add in my supplies icon and such, so I just listed the supplies above instead). Have a great Sunday all!

Scrappy Saturday

Holy Moly! Has it really been almost a whole week since I posted anything. Dang.
Been busy busy, and I'm sure next week will be just as busy. 'Tis the season for lots to do. So I have a major role in our local community theater's production of "Hello, Dolly!" so my schedule will be starting to get really busy. For those of you who know the show, I will be playing Irene Molloy. Woot! Can't wait till we get into the thick of the practices/shows, since we (my hubby and I) will be hanging out with some good friends who are also in the show. So because of my wonkey work schedule in April, I can only make 2 of the 3 practices a week *sigh.* But after our trip to Florida in May, my schedule will change, and then 3 days a week, is practice at night.
So like I said, BUSY bee here. Also, my hubby and I are debating over what we are going to do housing wise. Our lease is up on our apartment here by August, but we have to let them know if we are not renewing our lease by July 1st, so we are tirelessly trying to find some place cheaper to live. I really wish we had the money to just buy a house, so I won't have to deal with renting stupid expensive apartments (there are very little houses for rent around here) but alas, we are newlyweds who didn't have much money when we got married, then paying for the wedding and honeymoon- that is where most of our money saved up for went. Ugh. Anyways, enough of my complaining. So I finally had some free time today to crank out a few cards. I decided to just do some scrap cards, since I was too lazy to get up and go through my piles of designer paper, and my scrap paper piles is on my main craft table, so it is much more easy to just use from there. :)

Anyways, here are two cards. I made the Best Wishes one first (above), wasn't totally into it (though my hubby really liked it) then made the next card, which I originally was going to use the spring circles in a card a while back, but never ended up using it then, so I used it now.  I wanted to also try and use some of my new stuff from Oriental Trading Co. (the Best Wishes stamp, glue dots and adhesive, among other fun stuff I got). So enjoy, and remember to check out my Fun-Frilled Bridal Shower card tomorrow (Sunday). :)

Hugs all!

Easter Sunday

So by the time most of you read this, I am either A) sleeping, B) Eatting lunch, C) at work, or D) sleeping. Easter is one of those holidays that I don't get off of work, and since I work on most Sundays, that means I work Easter Sunday. Now, I'm going to be honest here, my hubby and I don't celebrate a lot of holidays (except Christmas, Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving and Halloween). We just can't afford it right now, and we also haven't found the right church to attend. But it's alright. We still technically are newlyweds (married in August) so we are allowed to be poor right?
Anyways, enough rambling. My major thing about this post is to remind you to check out Fun-Frilled today. Sundays are my hosting day over at Fun-Frilled, so be sure to check it out here!
If you participate in the weekly theme challenges, you can win some awesome loot. Check out the regulations and prizes here.
Ok, hope you all are enjoying your holiday! Easter blessings to you all!

KWerner Color Inspiration #49

So  here is my card for KWerner's Color Inspiration challenge #49 this week. I love the color, I just was having a creativity block, so I apologize if this card isn't up to snuff. When you are hopped up on medication to fight off a sinus infection, you just are not as focused. I also just couldn't think of what to do with the colors, but I am determined to participate in these color challenges as much as I can.
Anyways, above is the card and below is some detail work. Hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend! Make sure you check out Fun-Frilled tomorrow to see my Easter card! Hugs all!

Good Friday

So I am getting over a sinus infection and haven't been doing much of anything, but just sitting around. I went to work yesterday (didn't have a lot of choice when there is no one to cover for me and the paper DOES need to get designed). I took a sick day on Wednesday and left early for a half day on Tuesday, where I spent all that time pretty much sleeping and coughing (and a quick visit to the doctor to find out I had a sinus infection). So now I am on amoxacillin, musinex, and some nasal saline stuff (however you spell thoses medications), and already I feel better with each 12 hrs that pass by. My voice is almost completely back to normal (so I don't sound like a frog anymore) and my nose doesn't run like a faucet much either. Ok, enough chatting about sickness (or as my best friend Cat calls it "the plague"). :)
On a happy note, I made KWerner's Color Inspiration top 10 this week! Yay! Now last color inspiration challenge I made the top 20, but this week I made the top 10- which is just as "happy dance"-worthy as the top 20 but with a little extra hooray afterwards. :) I really feel I am getting better by the days with my card making. Now I don't normally make cards for the glory or the showing off, I do them to give to others to make them happy, but sometimes it is nice to see comments or get picked for favs or top lists once and a while. Makes me feel that I am making some headway in making quality pieces in my hobby.
So here is the top 10 from KWerner's. Can you see which one is mine? (if you haven't seen the card I made, you might not get it).

For those who haven't see the card, you can check out my post with it here.
If you've guessed it, mine is the 4th one in the first row.
I love these color challenges, I love her color round-ups, even if I'm not in them. But it always makes me excited when I am chosen in them. :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I hope to get back into some more papercrafts here soon. Probably tonight or tomorrow I will crank some fun stuff out.
Hugs to all and Happy Easter.
Make sure to check out Fun-Frilled today and everyday (especially my Sundays!). Later all!
Hugs!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #3

So here is my Color Challenge for Dawn's Raspberry Suite #3. I'm making this a quick post because I'm sick and really wanting sleep. I made this earlier in the day, but then had to go to work, so I'm just getting around to posting it. I'll add the supplies on later, when I get the energy to do so. Have a good time all!

KWerner Color Inspiration #48 b

So I already had the paper out, why not use it? So here is a second card for KWerner's Color Inspiration #48. Same supplies as the other card I made for the challenge here, but with a Hampton Arts flower stamp and Happy Mother's Day stamp by Studio G. Anyways, have a great day/night!

KWerner's Color Inspiration #48

So this is a mini card. The photo doesn't show you size properly, but this card is about 2/3 the size of your average card. I decided it was time to try a different size of card. Mix things up a bit. Anyways, if you haven't checked out KWerner's last color challenge, I was in the top 20! Yay! So here is a fun card. The colors are so pretty! Fun stuff all!
Night night.

Check my card out and the other awesome cards in the top 20 here. My original card post is here. What a great thing to add to my happy day. I do love these color combos. I would of never thought to bring in some yellow. Below is the top twenty from her site.(Mine is in the second row, center!)
