Oh the weather outside is frightful...

...and the fire is so delightful...I wish I had a fireplace, it would be so nice in the coldness of this winter.
So here are some cards that I scraplifted from some of the wonderful holiday cards by Kristina Werner's holiday card series. I think they turned out cute. I love the purple one! I have absolutely fallen in love with felt ribbon.

Have a snuggly warm night all! And check out my previous post of more Christmas cards if you haven't already. Happy Holiday cardmaking!

One Layer Card challenge

Ok. So I am big fan of KWerner's Design blog. And on her blog-o she is having a One-layer card challenge. So on Friday I finally got some time to do some cardmaking and I gave it a shot. I managed to finally get some kraft stock to play with, so I decided to use a stamp set I had gotten on sale after the holidays for it. I don't know if adding ribbon and a button doesn't officially make this a one-layer card, but I just had to...it was calling for it. So if it works officially for the challenge great, if not...well I tried. 1 layered cards a realllyyyyy tough! Anyways enjoy!

Now my next post is all the Mother's day cards I made, so stay tuned.

Blog Candy giveaway extended!
Also I decided to extend my blog candy giveaway another week. So comment to win over at this post!
Have a great Saturday!

A year in Cards-Oct. 2009 sketch challenge

So I decided to whip up some cards for the Two Peas/KWerner "A year in cards-Oct. 2009" sketch challenge. She basically had 3 card sketches and you can either use the sketch as a starting point or make autumn/gratitude cards. I decided to do the gratitude plus sketch a whirl. I went and used more of these lovely K&Company bohemian-esque popup sticker/embelishments on these. I am just in love with them right now! Below is the sketch and all three cards!

I also started writing down a list of what all I'm doing for Christmas (I know, it's October still, but I have a lot to do from now to then!). I wrote out pretty much ALL of the people I can think of that I want to make cards for, treats, or gifts. For my close friends and family I'll do all three, and then for my not-as-close friends and co-workers I have an idea what to do for all of them. This year, I want it to be a Crafty-Christmas! The more I can make, the less I need to buy. :) I hope I can set aside time to do it all, but I'm gonna try. I also gotta think of what I'm doing for Thanksgiving before then. This year the fam. is coming to our house...eek! I still don't know if my in-laws are coming down too, or if it will just be my parents and my hubby at our place. We are gonna have to celebrate it a little late, due to when the 'rents are coming in on the train, so we'll see what happens. All I know is I totally want to make it cute and decorate the place and especially the dinner table- I want it to look as nice as possible, since it is our first time hosting Thanksgiving. :) Anyways, enjoy the cards and have a great Sunday! (yay, day off for me!)
Enjoy!
Laters and hugs to everyone out there!

KWerner's Color Inspiration #55

So here is the card I created for KWerner's Color Inspiration Challenge #55. I just LOVE these colors, but to be honest I was initially stumped on what kind of card to make (that wasn't Autumn or fall-like). So I got these great stamps from Inka Stamps when it was going out of business, and I just LOVE the takeout box. Sadly I didn't have very many good sentiments to go with them, but I though Yummy would do just fine (taken from a cupcake set by Studio G).

Another problem I came across is the fortune cookie (aka. PacMan...lol). I have a fortune cookie stamp (also from Inka Stamps) however I really wanted to cut it out, and it didn't look right cut out since it basically is all one shade with a tad bit darker shade on the center folded part, so I just flipped it over and used the back-non stamped side of the paper as my fortune cookie.

Anyways, enjoy all and stay tuned, for I will be posting some adorable cards I made for a co-worker to give to her friend for her Bachelorette party and wedding- its all hot pink, black, and white with polka dots (the wedding colors!). :)
Have a great night/day all!

KWerner Color Inspiration #49

So  here is my card for KWerner's Color Inspiration challenge #49 this week. I love the color, I just was having a creativity block, so I apologize if this card isn't up to snuff. When you are hopped up on medication to fight off a sinus infection, you just are not as focused. I also just couldn't think of what to do with the colors, but I am determined to participate in these color challenges as much as I can.
Anyways, above is the card and below is some detail work. Hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend! Make sure you check out Fun-Frilled tomorrow to see my Easter card! Hugs all!

Good Friday

So I am getting over a sinus infection and haven't been doing much of anything, but just sitting around. I went to work yesterday (didn't have a lot of choice when there is no one to cover for me and the paper DOES need to get designed). I took a sick day on Wednesday and left early for a half day on Tuesday, where I spent all that time pretty much sleeping and coughing (and a quick visit to the doctor to find out I had a sinus infection). So now I am on amoxacillin, musinex, and some nasal saline stuff (however you spell thoses medications), and already I feel better with each 12 hrs that pass by. My voice is almost completely back to normal (so I don't sound like a frog anymore) and my nose doesn't run like a faucet much either. Ok, enough chatting about sickness (or as my best friend Cat calls it "the plague"). :)
On a happy note, I made KWerner's Color Inspiration top 10 this week! Yay! Now last color inspiration challenge I made the top 20, but this week I made the top 10- which is just as "happy dance"-worthy as the top 20 but with a little extra hooray afterwards. :) I really feel I am getting better by the days with my card making. Now I don't normally make cards for the glory or the showing off, I do them to give to others to make them happy, but sometimes it is nice to see comments or get picked for favs or top lists once and a while. Makes me feel that I am making some headway in making quality pieces in my hobby.
So here is the top 10 from KWerner's. Can you see which one is mine? (if you haven't seen the card I made, you might not get it).

For those who haven't see the card, you can check out my post with it here.
If you've guessed it, mine is the 4th one in the first row.
I love these color challenges, I love her color round-ups, even if I'm not in them. But it always makes me excited when I am chosen in them. :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I hope to get back into some more papercrafts here soon. Probably tonight or tomorrow I will crank some fun stuff out.
Hugs to all and Happy Easter.
Make sure to check out Fun-Frilled today and everyday (especially my Sundays!). Later all!
Hugs!

KWerner's Color Inspiration #48

So this is a mini card. The photo doesn't show you size properly, but this card is about 2/3 the size of your average card. I decided it was time to try a different size of card. Mix things up a bit. Anyways, if you haven't checked out KWerner's last color challenge, I was in the top 20! Yay! So here is a fun card. The colors are so pretty! Fun stuff all!
Night night.

Anyways, here's just a shorty, because I am mad tired and have to get up and meet with my in-laws tomorrow afternoon. Night (or morning for many) all!

KWerner's Color Inspiration #45

This sucker was HARD to work with. Black, white, and grey only. Ekk! I'm still not 100% happy with it, but I did get to use a new stamp I got. (I got it free with my other stamp purchase on ebay, awesome!-free stamp!) I also got to use one of my nifty crocheted flowers I got from a someone also on ebay, who makes them by themselves in any color you want. I love them! I wish I could learn how to make them myself though. haha. This is a quicky post, since it is almost 5am and I'm mad tired. I was busy surfing around after making some cards, that I almost forgot to post this puppy. Anyways, These colors were tough to work with, I admit. Ok, enjoy all!
