Totally Tuesday September Link Party!

It's that time of the month gang, Totally Tuesday Link Party time!

All you have to do is link up ANY project you've done in the past month. That's right, ANY project from September! Add some of your favorite projects, tips, recipes, room reveals, lists, etc.! I know you all have done some awesome projects, and we'd love to check them all out. I encourage you all to check out other links posted too- it is a link party after all! We had some super fabulous projects linked up in the past, so I'm excited to see what you all have to show off! I'll pick some of my favorites next week, once you all have linked up your projects!

All I ask is that you:

  • Please follow the Host- that's me! (see the social media buttons in the right corner of the blog- follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Bloglovin, Instagram- whatever is your favorite means of following).
  • Link up your own projects- no giveaways or advertisements please. (you can link as many projects as you'd like, but it should be from the past month- September).

Other than that, just have fun! If you have a place to post my blog button (which can be found in my sidebar to the right), great! If not, no biggie- but it would make me a super happy blogger if you did. ;)

Have a Totally Awesome Tuesday and link away! Remember, it can be anything from the past MONTH!
Thanks all! -M
Now on to the link party!

Favorites Friday: Catching up on TV shows and Getting my craft on!

Welcome to another Favorites Friday!
Some of my favorites this week are tv shows that now have episodes on Netflix (therefore those of us (like me) who don't have cable, can watch tv shows in marathon sessions). lol
Enjoy.

1. Pretty Little Liars: The hubs and I have been blowing through episodes of this show on Netflix, and we just finished season 1. Already I'm kind of hooked. For some reason, I love the Hannah character the best, though I'm sure I'm one of the few out there that like her over the other "Liars." It's good fun to watch.

2. Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin Coffee Coolatta: So their coolattas are SOOO not on my diet/Weight Watchers plan, but Pumpkin flavored things are kind of my weekness. It is oh-so good...but not the best for you.

3. Michael's Black Halloween Candelabra: I found this baby for 50% off at Michael's the other day, and I am obsessed with it- since it is solid black and doesn't have any of the Halloween spiderweb-type things on it like the other decor they had on sale, I can use it for many different holidays and decor. My dining room is brown, gold and black, so it works great!

4. The Golden Nugget Antique and Flea Market: This antique market in Lambertville, N.J. is my new favorite place. A friend of mine took me there earlier in the week, and I got some awesome scores from it. Check out what all I got in my previous Thrifty Thursday post.

5. New Girl: This show also I recently discovered via Netflix. It is quite hilarious. I think I laugh through every single episode, thus far. The characters are so out of control, but so funny to watch.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me (Saturday going to Hershey Park with the hubs for a belated Anniversary trip and then Sunday is my big Sip & Swap party). Looking forward to enjoying my weekend! I hope your weekend is super fun too!

Happy Friday!

Thrifty Thursday: Rocking the Flea Market

Hey all! Welcome to Thrifty Thursday!
This past weekend, I scored some awesome deals while out and about. Check out some of my thrifty finds:

Scored this awesome candelabra for $15. Was 50% off at Michael's! I have been eyeing this piece ever since they brought out the Halloween decor items back in July, but wasn't willing to drop $30 on it. So I was sooo excited when it went on sale! Woo!

I picked this awesome "manly barrel" for my hubs at the Golden Nugget Antique Market in Lambertville, NJ. I scored this bad boy for $5. Yes you read that right- $5! You can either wall mount it, or close it up and take it on the go. My hubs loved it. I think the vendor just didn't want to lug it home (it is pretty heavy. lol)

Also while at the Golden Nugget, I came across these 4 black kitchen canisters (they are ceramic). I have been searching endlessly for jars like this, but I kept coming up short- or ones in colors that didn't match my kitchen at all. So when I saw these at one of the first vendors I walked by, I fell in love. The lady sold all 4 of them to me for $7. Heck yeah!

While at the Goodwill with my mom a few weeks ago, I came across this cool painting someone had done (it is a one-of-a-kind I am pretty sure). I was torn whether or not to buy it, as it was $10, and I wanted to stick to my budget of cash I had. My mom bought it for us for our wedding anniversary, as I'm sure she could tell I really liked it and was sure the hubs would too. I decided it would look great in our black and green kitchen, so I added it to our little kitchen nook (below).

I scored this little bucket for 50 cents at the Goodwill. I hope to either use it to give the trick-or-treaters candy, or put a mum plant in it. Haven't decided yet. haha

Remember these benches? Well- leaving them out all summer, we came to the conclusion that the neighborhood cats and other animals like to sit on them/tear up the seats. ;( So the cute stripes got torn up. We had friends coming over, so I really wanted to use them, so I came across these table cloths at the dollar store. $1 each. So for $6, I had a cheap and simple fix to the previous covers. Surprisingly enough, they are holding together better than the previous covers (maybe they don't smell as nice to the neighborhood cats. lol) They don't look as pretty as before (and I forgot to photograph them with their pretty outdoor pillows. doh!) but they get the job done.

Lastly, I've been slowly trying to fix up our master bathroom decor. Right now, my printer is out of color ink, so I decided to just print these free bathroom printables in grayscale (which goes with the yellow, gray/silver, and white color scheme). I used dollar store frames, so cost $3 for this cute setup.

So have you scored any great deals on things recently? I'd love to know what things you've scored or thrifted.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Work it! Wednesday: Getting ready to party!

Hello all! Welcome to Work it! Wednesday.
So what have I've been working on lately? Well- I have been VERY busy these days. Between work, helping plan a big Gala for the Newtown Arts Company, some freelance work, and trying to enjoying the little freetime I have left, I've been quite busy. But enough chit-chat, here are some of the things I've been working on:

Peter Pan Show for Children:

I had the chance to be apart of a two-person short children's show for a day, playing Wendy, Tiger Lily and Hook. It was super fun and I had a blast doing it with my friend, and I've been told the kiddos who saw it, loved it too. ;)

Newtown Arts Company Gala Planning

I have been super busy being on the Newtown Arts Company's Gala committee. I designed their save the date postcards, their invitations, and will be doing other design work, besides being on the decorations sub-committee and helping with the basket raffle. I've been so busy doing stuff for this gala, I swear I feel like I've done more for it, than I did for my own wedding! lol. (above, is the logo that sits on top of the band that keeps the RSVP card together with the invite.) I also helped stuff/assemble 255 invitations last week- took most of the day, but we got it all done.

Here is my mock-up for the centerpiece ideas (we each brought our centerpiece ideas to the committee meeting). We ended up combining this with another member's idea, so all in all, it is a win-win situation. We will be using the gold votive and picture frame with previous show's postcard, along with items that were either used or remind you of that show (shows that the theater company has done in the past). For example, "Grease", we are using a Beauty School Dropout headdress, black comb, 50s style soda fountain drinks, pink 50s reading glasses, leather jacket, etc. Every table will be themed around a show that we have done in the past (Once the gala is over, I'll be sure to show you all the fun decor). Our basket raffles will also be themed around shows we've done in the past- The Gala celebrates 30 years, so we thought we'd remember those 30 years, in various ways!

Sip & Swap Party Planning

This weekend I am hosting my first ever "Sip and Swap" party. It is a clothing swap party, with wine on the side. haha. I've been busy planning decorations, gathering food and beverages, and going through my closet and figuring out the mounds of clothes that I am adding to the swap. Above is the door wreath I created. The colors for the party are purple, red, black and white (in case you care. lol). ;)

Here are some of the other decor items- signs, mini frame, treat boxes, straws...

...And this lovely piece of decor that I snagged for 50% off from Michael's. LOVE it! It will be perfect to dress up the swap, as well as be great when I move to the Halloween decor (and will match my brown, gold and black dining room, after the holidays.) So excited to have gotten this piece!

... and keeping up with other stuff at home ...

Our pepper plant in our garden has produced some peppers! woo!

The rose bushes in the front yard still having pretty flowers.

And the backyard's flowers are pretty too. ;)

And I just couldn't resist- 50 cent Halloween bucket! hehe. Can't wait to start Halloween decor!

So, what are you all working on these days?
Have you started decorating for Fall or Halloween yet?
I'm waiting till after this party weekend is over before I put mine up.

Anyways, have a great Wednesday!

Favorites Friday: Yummy Foodies!

Welcome to another Favorites Friday!
Today, I'm loving lots of different foods (and a drink mix, thrown in there). Enjoy!

1. Special K Chocolatey Pretzel Cereal Bars: OMG... these are AMAZING! I started out loving the red berries and plain chocolate cereal bars, but these are superior to those! That sweet and salty taste together...mmmm!

2. Red Robin's Grilled Turkey Burger: This has become my go-to burger at Red Robin. I just love how it tastes with their special sauce, and it is a little healthier than an normal burger. Love it!

3. Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea: Yeah, I adore peach iced tea, so when you can have a Crystal Light version- yay!

4. Weight Watchers Mexican Style Blend Shredded Cheese: I love Weight Watchers products, so when I found they made shredded cheese, I had to try it. It now is a staple in our household when cooking meals involving shredded cheese.

5. Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownies: The hubs picked these up for me, as they were at our Bottom Dollar, and I love them! They are soft and yummy, and only 90 calories. Hooray!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken

So I was going through my photos of recipes, etc. and realized I never posted this recipe for our Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken! I apologize, my followers, for not sharing this lovely and simple recipe with you all! So, without further stalling, here you go:

Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken

Ingredients:
  • 4 -6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (16 1/2 ounce) can crushed (or sliced- which is what we used) pineapple
  • 1 (16 1/2 ounce) bottle hawaiian style (if you can find it, if not, use sweet BBQ) barbecue sauce

Directions:
  1. Place chicken breasts in crock pot.
  2. Pour sauce over chicken.
  3. Pour pineapple (or pineapple slices) on top of all.
  4. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  5. Serve over rice. Tada!

It was SUPER simple and very tasty over rice. We had leftovers for what seemed like forever (because there is only 2 of us) but I'm sure it would be perfect for a family or party.

Have a great day!
