Cleaning a Gross Oven

So this week we broke down and cleaned the oven. I honestly think this has to be one of the most gross things to have to clean (other than the bathrooms). We started to get smoke coming from our oven due to buildup inside the oven- so we knew it was time to attack it with some cleaning- they type of cleaning that wasn't the "self-cleaning" mode. We were afraid that mode might smoke up the house just as much, so we had to get down and dirty with hand cleaning it. Ick!

Luckily, it wasn't too horrible (I'm sure my husband disagrees though- since he did most of it, lol).

All you need is 2 products:

After spraying down the cleaner inside the oven door and bottom of the oven, we let it sit for a few minutes. Then we attacked the mess with the scraper- scraping off the gunk (and wiping down with paper towels).
We did the "self-cleaning" mode afterwards, just as an extra clean. In the end, it looks SO much better and now- guess what- no more smoke!

Again, here is the Before:

And the After:

All sparkles!
Hope you have a great day and don't have to do this dirty job today. ;P

Pinspiration Monday: Hopeful Inspiration to get Crafty

Welcome to another Pinspiration Monday!

Sorry I haven't had many posts to share recently- my full-time job has been a little crazy right now. My full-time schedule is all over the place these days, making my brain all mush, all the time. I am working night shift (5:30pm-1:30pm) on Mondays, mid-day shift Tuesdays & Wednesdays (11-7pm or 12-8pm, depending on what they need me to do), slightly earlier shift (10:30-6:30pm) on Thursdays and slightly later shift (3-11pm) on Fridays. Also having to cover some Saturday shifts (every other weekend) for co-workers on vacation, meaning I have to take a different day off- like some random Tuesday or Wednesday off. *tear* (All of this because one person left our department- ugh).
That being said, my time with my hubs is also all over the place, so I've been spending more time at home alone- just me and the cat, Wendy. I've also be swamped with freelance graphic design work, so once I'm done with work and working on those freelance projects, I don't feel like doing much of anything. ;( That means, a lot of watching Hulu/Netflix and Pinterest surfing, because I'm creatively pooped out. I don't know what it is about working shifts all over the place, but my creativity has just gone out the window as far as craft projects. I still like photography and trying to learn to use my DSLR, but doing scrapbook pages, cards, home decor project, etc.- I sit down to do it, and I just have a mind blank. Any of you have that happen to you?

Anyways, sorry for the mini rant. Hopefully all the Pinterest surfing will spark some creativity in me today- Labor Day. I have to work night shift again tonight (I know- working on Labor Day!?) but in the few hours beforehand, I hope to create SOMETHING. I hope this will spark something creative in me, and maybe yourself too!

Have a great holiday everyone! And for those who have to work during the holiday, like me, have a great all-around day!

Things are looking different...

Just so you all know:
Yes, you are at Madcap Frenzy, my blog site.
I just have decided to do some "sprucing up", so don't mind the mess as I try to make this blog looking nice.

After a lot of thinking, I decided that there really needs to be 3 separate parts to my online design presence. So, within the next month, I'm going to redesign these three aspects and make them closer to what I want them to be. There is my profession design work, spare time/personal projects, and then my hopeful freelancing invitation design outlet.

1. My person portfolio of design works, http://www.morgainefordworkman.com/portfolio
Basically this is my professional graphics design portfolio. My way of showing off the design projects that I do in my professional career. Eventually I'll figure out the right way to redirect www.morgainefordworkman.com to the portfolio portion (my OLD portfolio is still on the original link, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it for my /portfolio wordpress site- anyone know the easiest way to redirect without losing my /portfolio site?)

2. My blog here, http://www.madcapfrenzy.blogspot.com/
This is my blog where I show all the DIY projects, papercrafting- scrapbooking and cards, and all the crafty fun projects I do in my spare time. Under this umbrella is also my Stepping with Smiles- the area where I update once a week on how I am staying healthy (or not) and keeping a fit way of life. Also is my 365 Days of Mo- my photo a day, and Life's A Game- the place where my husband and I talk about video games, primarily World of Warcraft, as well as sharing our parody songs we create. I also share my discount finds, DIY projects, Olioboards and decorations/home decor. Basically this is the place where I post all the crafty stuff I do.

3. Frenzified, www.frenzified.com
This site started out as a digital image store that I created after my mom mentioned that she needed digi images for a card she was making in a swap. It started out decent, with challenges and all that jazz, however over the years I have found Digi image stores just struggle massively when you are the only designer- I can't create the amount that most people would want in selection, all by myself, so later this year the site is going to go through a big overhall. No longer will it be a digital image store. Instead, it will be my place JUST for invitation design. Over the years I have found that invite design is something all my friends want from me, and something I enjoy the most. So, later this year (or if I get ambitious, later this month) Frenzified digital image store will be turned into Frenzified invitation design. "Is your life in a frenzy? Frenzified is here to be your friend in invite design!" So, on this portion of my life, stay tuned. haha

Anyways, Enjoy and let me know if you have any ideas on things you want to see here on this blog.
Hugs all!
