Favorites Friday: #1
Welcome to the first ever Favorites Friday here at Madcap Frenzy.
I hope to increase the amount of weekly features we have here at the blog. I hope to do it every week, or at least as much as I can. So on Fridays I want to share with you some of my favorite things in life right now.
Enjoy!
1. Sodastream soda maker My hubs and I have become OBSESSED with this thing, which we got for Christmas. I am in love with the Diet Grapefruit flavored soda. Their "energy" flavor aka. Red Bull, is also quite tasty.
2. Healthy Choice Top Chef cafe steamers grilled chicken pesto This by far is one of my all-time favorite pre-packaged dinners. It is so awesome flavored. I adore it and am so happy when I can find it at my grocery store.
3. Corsets-UK Simple Black corset and tutu They have sales pretty much every day at this online store. I recently purchased this corset/tutu combo on clearence, and am super happy when I got it in the mail. So cute!
4. Rust-oleum Chalkboard paint This is the chalkboard paint we used for our chalkboard dining room wall, and we recently picked up the bright red color version for a game-board that fits our coffee table for my hubs' D&D games. It is perfect for those chalkboard projects.
5. Audiology Voodoo earphones These are the most comfortable earphones I've come across in a long time. I'm not sure where I picked mine up, but I've had mine for a while and they still rock.
These are my favs of the week. Have a great day all!

Victorian Week continues...
While many fellow cardmakers and bloggers are off to the summer CHA, I am soaking up the sweltering heat in Pennsylvania. This coming Friday and Saturday are my last shows for "Hello, Dolly!" so even though I am sad to be finishing the show, it will be nice to have free time again. Yay! Like I mentioned in my previous post, you will be seeing "Victorian-type themed" cards that I am making for the 'special people' that helped with the show for the cast to give (aka. the Director, assistant director, music director, choreographer, etc.)
These three cards are going to the set construction designer, stage manager, and the props mistress. Tomorrow I'll post the cards that are going to the director, assistant director, and music director (aka. the "men" cards...since most of the other cards are for ladies). Busy busy busy.
Anyways, without further ado- some more cards.
(so this is one of my fav color combos. The bright colors I think are a big contrast to the lacy/victorian look. I know I've used the corset stamp before, and I must admit it is one of my favorite stamps. So classic!)
( I went a little button crazy I think on this one. I also was having MAJOR issues getting my layout to work, but I think it works ok now.)
(this lady stamp is SO "Hello, Dolly!" however the rubber is chipped by her arm and bottom of dress, so I added the big flower accent to cover it up.)
(This actually took a lot longer than I expected. A similar layout I found on someone's blog a while ago, however it was reversed and a circle instead of an oval, and didn't have a butterfly, flowers, and all that jazz. Sometimes you just need to get a sketch inspiration in order to create. )
(as you can see up close here, I hand stitched the oval. I dabbed blue ink on the edges to give it some pop of color, but it needed something to break the two colors apart, so I added stitching!)
I quickly realized I don't have very many "thanks" stamps. Luckily I got a few from my mom when she visited last weekend and gave me a whole big back of goodies that she had for me after cleaning out HER craft room. She's been crafting FAR longer than me, so she has collected a lot of stuff over the years. Also, she doesn't love the same supplies as I do, such as buttons, chipboard letters, and lace. :)
Anyways, Have a great Thursday everyone. I am heading to bed soon (it is 4:30am here) so I can get up later for the night shift I have for Thursday. yeehaa! lol
Night night, or good morning to some of you!

KWerner Color Inspiration #42

So below is what I came up with for KWerner's color inspiration #42. Let me just tell you, that those colors just screamed "old look" to me. If I had pure white lace, I would of used it on it too, however I've only got off-white. (I love lace!)
This also is my Virtual Stamp Night (Saturday) "H" aka "You're my obsession" card. I usually don't double up on challenges, since I just think it isn't right, but I just thought they fit for both. I am obsessed with anything older than me. I collect antique hats, I love retro furniture (not 80s though...like the ugly man-couches that my hubby refused to get rid of) and I adore sometimes just watching historic movies and tv specials. There is just something about history that I love. Since I don't have any stamp that says history or old or anything along those lines, I decided upon "through thick & thin" since that is what I plan to do for my friends, family, and true love- stick with them through thick and thin. I will stick with all through thick and thin till we ourselves become antiques. (Ok, I"m going to stop trying to sound like a philosophical rant).
Make sure you check out Fun-Frilled if you haven't already! Always fun over there! :) Remember, my card will be on tomorrow, so be sure to check it out and play along with the challenge so you can win some loot!
I think this turned out well. I'm skipping the 1:00pm VSN challenge-it's melting crayons technique for background paper and I just can't bring myself to get the iron out and make a real mess, so I thought I'd post this before I forgot about it and was beyond the deadline for KWerner's challenge. If you haven't checked out my previous post, it has all the cards I popped out last night. Check it out! Hope you all enjoy, and be prepared to see more cards later today. :)
