It's Turkey Time

So I finally got around to photographing the rest of my scrapbook pages from the Crop for a Cure. Also, I worked on a few other things that I'll show later (including this year's Thanksgiving placecards for our table and my Friday Night Card Club November card). But, without further ado, here are some scrapbook pages. :D I apologize for the crappy photography. I still haven't figured out how to photograph scrapbook pages nicely, and these are taken on my iphone, while I try to get batteries for my camera and fix the battery door to the camera. (right now its busted so I have it taped up)

(Thanksgiving at our apartment for the first time last year. Here is my parents, my in-laws, my nephews and sister-in-law, and my hubs. That and the table setting...aka...me trying to go all Martha Stewart on Thanksgiving. lol)

(we made this layout during the crop, photo taken at the crop. I love stuff like that!)

(photos from when my mom came to visit in March, we walked the New Hope canal)

(My nephew at Christmas after he got his baby cruising car.
Too cute. I think these are by far my most favorite pictures yet of the little cutie. lol)

Have a great week before Thanksgiving! Do any of you plan on going Black Friday shopping? I would, but I have to work that day, and I don't know if I can handle getting up in the wee hours in the morning, THEN going to work. lol. I just finished re-watching the first Harry Potter movie. lol. My hubs and I are determined to re-watch all 6 movies before we go see the 7th Harry Potter movie probably on Sunday.
Anyways,
Have a great Friday!

Scared turkey

Today I'm sharing with you another card for a co-worker (it's beginning to be a weekly think, I know!...all these custom card orders, I need to make myself a business card or something, haha!) and what I decided to make my placecards look like for this year's Thanksgiving here at the house of Mo. :)
To start, the card is for my co-worker's son, a middle schooler, so I decided to make it a little funny. Hence, alive and scared turkey out front, and then cooked turkey inside...hehe. I finally found a card idea to use one of the awesome Recollections felty embellishments, and I think it matched perfect with the paper. The funny part about that paper (also by Recollections) I had actually adhered the two pieces of paper together, then realized I like the combo of what was on the other side (double sided paper), so I flipped it over, and added a ribbon around it, and started my card from that choice! Don't you just love it when things like that happen? Anyways, here's the card!

(I wouldn't have thought teal would look so pretty with the rest of the fall colors, but I dig it!)

(scared turkey, buttons, and felties! All the best things in life...hehe)

(cooked turkey!)

I also worked on my placecards for our Thanksgiving dinner. This year, since my 'rents are coming to visit, but coming in from Michigan on Thanksgiving itself, we decided to celebrate on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That way, the 'rents can relax a little beforehand, and my hubby's famiy can all make it too! However, I'm a scared turkey myself, since this is the first time we have ever hosted Thanksgiving at our house. Eek! So, the table cloth chosen looks like this:

So I decided to pick the colors from there the best I could, and made these placecards using my new Nesti I got 50% off at Micheal's over a month ago (That was my big purchase of the month, lol!) and I also used an adorable Thanksgiving stamp set I got on sale also at Micheal's (that same day), since the day after Halloween they were ushering in all the Christmas stuff, and had all the Halloween and harvest/Thanksgiving stuff 50-75% off. I love sales...I think these days I only shop in the sale racks anymore. :)

(this one is mine- the first one I did, so if I screwed it up, it was ok. hehe)

(I <3 buttons!- These are from Papertrey Inks!)
(here's the whole slew of placecards, 7 adults and 2 kiddos)

I think it has the feel of some of the PTI designers, like Nichole, Mish and Pine, but I think it works, and should match the tablecloth. I now have the centerpiece and rest of the placesettings to figure out. This year I want to go all Martha Stewart on Thanksgiving, so I have to have everything match. :)
Hope everyone is having a great Friday. I'm off to go do some cleaning around the house. It's amazing how quickly your home becomes a reck when live with a messy man! haha
Have a Friday Funday!
Hugs all!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #16

Time for some color challenge goodness. These colors are brought to you by the Raspberry Suite #16 Color Challenge by Dawn McVey (see above). I love how these colors just scream fall to me. I got so Fall and Thanksgiving card happy with these colors, that I made 3 cards for the challenge! Check out all the wonderful cards made by others for this challenge here.

(These colors just screamed thanksgiving to me, and I just HAD to use some new DP paper I got for fall and My Favorite Things' sentiment. The sketch is similar to one Dawn did a while back, I just changed things up a bit to fit what I wanted to do and my style of cards.)

(I thought the sentiment wasn't dark enough so I tried to go back and darken it with more ink, however it gave this shadow effect to it, but now that I look at it, I kinda like the effect.)

(My second card I made for the challenge is all about the wood-like paper. I am so into owls right now, so I wanted to make this card with one also.)

(I originally made a word bubble, a-la KWerner style, however it was too big for the card and looked funny, so I did the sentiment/word bubble on the woodgrain paper)

(This is my least favorvite of the three. Mostly because I still am not happy with how that leaf turned out. The ink just soaked into the paper too much, to get the kraft-color I wanted. Oh well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad...lol)

I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend. I am enjoying the last of my 3-day weekend, since I have to work on Labor Day (but I did get Friday off instead).
Leave me some comment love so I know you all are still out there and still following...I feel like I'm talking to myself some days. lol. Let me know which is your favorite, since I know what I like, but that usually isn't what other people like. :)
Have a great holiday all!
