Fun in the Fall

So I LOVEEEEEE the fall time. I love when the leaves change color, the temperature becomes a little cooler, and everything about fall makes me so happy. I love pumpkin spice everything (frappicinos, hot chocolate, candle scents, etc.) and everyone prepping for Halloween (which is my most favorite holiday besides Christmas). So here are some of my first fall cards for the season. One is a Thanksgiving card, but I just loved this stamp and the felt leaf I just had to use them together. The other card was my first try at my Friday Night Card Club's Sept. card (which I showed ya'll the post before), but I realized it would take way too long to do 10 of them and it wasn't totally fall (just fall colors). Enjoy!

So do you all love fall like I do? Does any of you have major fall plans, or just the usual school stuff?
Have a great weekend all!

Pumpkin Party

So here is the card I made for my Sept. Card club card. Theme was: Fall/Halloween card that has orange on it, and some sort of food.

(pumpkin party!)

Pumpkin is food for many, so I thought this would work. I decided I wanted to try a very low amount of layers and use some kraft stock for a more autumn look. I also added some faux stitching and white gel pen accents to it, a la. KWerner style. hehe
I think they turned out cute.
Stay tuned for some more fall cards coming your way later this week. I am starting to get in the fall spirit, so I am in love with Fall items. Have you all started working on fall cards or have you skipped right to Christmas cards? Just wondering what everyone is up to, now that most people's kids are off to school (my hubs started his classes today...hehe).
Later.

Falling deeper in love

Ok. So I know I should of posted this last week, but I've been uber busy this past week. So August 23rd was my 2nd wedding anniversary and 6 years together anniversary with my hubby. We did the low-key celebration this year. Since 2-years anniversary is supposed to be Cotton and China, we did the following: A shirt and pj for each of us, I got the hubs a "china" aka. glass (since we don't do china really) shot glass set and the hubs took me out for Chinese food (it was a classy chinese food place though). It was a simple night, but always reminds me that the simple things in like make me love life and my hubs. Here is the card I made for him. I used a little skunky, since at our wedding, we were the "two skunks in love" table theme. hehe
Also below are some photos from our Chinese food excurtion. :)

I promise I have a lot more cards in store for ya'll later this week (I actually got some cards done over the weekend for once), so stay tuned for more crafty fun!
Later all.

Airplanes in August

So I finally had a chance to work on my Friday Night Card Club cards. This month's theme was "guy cards." So this is what I came up with. I really wanted to use my BBQ stamps, but realized quickly I didn't have any papers that worked with that, so I decided to go with the below idea. I also wanted to try a different fold than what I usually do, so I went with this window/shutter door type fold. I just love this stamp set from Papertrey Ink. So cute! Enjoy!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I just saw "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" yesterday, which I thought was wonderfully funny and a perfect start to my weekend. It is perfect for the gamer in me and I just couldn't stop laughing. :)
Anyways, have a great weekend all!

Back from CHA...and fighting off a cold

Ok. So I got back from CHA all safe and sound....however...about 2 days after getting home from my trip...I started to get sick with a summer cold...I'm still fighting it off today, coughing and hacking like no other, hence why it took me so long to get on here and post anything. But at least I did have some great memories, which I will show ya'll now! (I apologize for the crappy photo quality....my camera kept dying, so I used my phone's camera. )

( This is the Philly 30th St. Station...where I left on my journey out to Chicago.)

(Then I had a brief 1 hr layover at the DC Union Station...enough time to grab lunch and see this beautiful ceiling...)

(On the first night there was so many people at the "Meet Rosemont" event! So much food and so many people chit chatting! And this cool Welcome back CHA sign!)

(Day 1: First stop, The Fancy Pants Designs booth!)

(This was one of my favorite layouts in the Fancy Pants Designs booth)

(Pink Paislee time!)

(They had such a cute table setup!)

(Tattered Angels! They had an awesome funky sprayed album demo!)

(October Afternoon! Another fav!)

(some layouts by OA)

(More adorable layouts by OA)

(What a cute card make-n-take!)

(Some demos from the class my Mom and I took, so vintage!)

(Me and my mom at the CHA entrance, on the last day of our trip at CHA...saying our goodbyes! *tear*)

(The beautiful view from my seat on the plane ride home)

(Get me off of this plane!...We landed...but then sat in Philly for almost an hr while we had to wait for a place to be made for our plane)

(Still sitting here...I want off!)

(You can tell I was bored and wanted off...this was my other view, besides a older gentleman next to my right, who did not want to be in my pictures...lol)

(Yay...they are finally about to let us off the plane)

(I get off the plane from the airport, but because they were so slow...and my bagage was so slow to get to me, I missed my train to get from the airport to my house....poo! Now I have to wait another hour till the next one comes! Argh!)

(My bag made it through the trip...even if it was bursting with creativity inside!)

(and now the loot! Here is some of the stuff I got from make-n-takes, classes, or just stopping by the different booths)

(More loot!....and there actually is an entire bag full of stuff I had to leave with my mom at her house, because I couldn't fit it in my bag for the plane ride home...lol! So there is probably at least 1 more table of loot photo that will have to be take later...lol)

All in all it was a fun trip! And I got these nifty sunglasses from Cricut Imagine. Too bad I didn't win one of the machines for wearing the sunglasses around CHA. lol. Darn!

I had a grand time at CHA, then traveling to see my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin north of Chicago for a little over a day, then trekking over to see my Grandmother, Aunt, Uncle, Cousins on the other side of Illinois, near the St. Louis border...and then trekking over to my Mom's home for an evening before hopping on a plane back home. I know...busy week it was! But I did get a pleasant surprise from my mom for an early Xmas present...a Photocentric Stamp Maker Machine! Thank you so much, my dearest mom! It won't get to me till the end of the month, but this was the ONE and ONLY item at CHA that I was so freaking excited to get my hands on, above everything else. I can't wait to try it out, and turn all of the Frenzified digis into acrylic clear stamps! Woo! If any of you would like any, I plan on doing a "test round" so let me know what design/digi you are interested in the most as a stamp! :)
On to other things... I am still busy working on my card club's August "manly" themed cards...I'm just struggling and am stuck, but eventually I'll have to get going on them.
Also, Frenzified's Fall Forever set is still up for grabs for anyone, and don't forget to get yourself the Acorn digi freebie if you haven't already, over at www.frenzified.com
Ok, time for me to get some shut eye (I just got back from working a night shift at my "real" job....so I gotta be alive for tomorrow's shift....lol).
Have a great evening or morning all!

CHA bound

So tomorrow morning I hop on a train en-route to Chicago, to head out to CHA! Now you might be wondering, why I'm going so early...well, I am actually going to the trade show CHA first! I am accompanying my mom, who has been a member of CHA for about 25 years, and was just featured in the CHA magazine...so make sure you check out the article on my mom, Roxie!

I am going specifically to get some great contacts for my digital art store, Frenzified, and to help get some contacts for my mom's business, Geiser-Weaver Assoc., LLC. The supershow at CHA July 30-31 I will not make however, because we decided to go visit family outside Chicago then, so I may or may not see some of ya'lls faces while out there...lol
Anyways, I hop on a train at 10am tomorrow (though I still have to work a night shift at my full-time job tonight...it's gonna be a long couple of days!). So, if you don't hear from me this week, its because I'm at CHA!
Hopefully I can post some pictures afterwards or during for all those who can't come.
Hugs all!
